Federal Election 2010
A federal election will be held on Saturday 21 August 2010.
If you are overseas, you do not have to vote in the federal election and should complete the overseas notification form at www.aec.gov.au.
In Gemany, you will be able to vote either in person at the Australian Embassy in Berlin, the Australian Consulate-General in Frankfurt or by applying for a postal vote. You will need to know which Australian address you are currently enrolled at in order to be issued with the correct ballot papers for your electorate. By voting early, you may avoid queues and delays. Alternatively, you can apply for a postal vote by going to www.aec.gov.au and completing an “Application for a postal vote” form. Postal vote applications are also available from the Australian Embassy in Berlin or the Consulate in Frankfurt. Our offices will accept postal vote applications until 5pm Wednesday 18 August 2010. Your ballot papers will then be sent to you to complete and post back. We expect the ballot papers to be available in Berlin and Frankfurt in early August.
