Increased demand for visas before Christmas and New Year
The demand for visas, particularly tourist/ business visitors, temporary work and partner migration, increases before the Christmas and New Year period as well as ahead of a number of major events in Australia.
If you already know that you need a visa to travel to Australia between now and early February 2016, please make sure that you apply early.
Our visa office is unable to guarantee visa finalisations in less than the Australian Government’s global service standards.
Visa processing time – service standards
Processing times are indicative only and vary depending on a range of factors and personal circumstances (including the number of applications we receive). Therefore, some applications take longer than the service standard time.
The Berlin visa office is closed over the Christmas/ New Year period for a total of eleven days:
24 – 28 December 2015 and again 31 December 2015 - 3 January 2016 inclusive.
The department does not recommend booking flights or making travel commitments until you have a visa to travel to Australia. The department will not be liable for any financial loss incurred by clients whose visa application was finalised later than expected or where an application is unsuccessful.
